So I'm not much of a phone person. I pretty much hate it. I dunno why really. It's probably because it's hard for me to double task while I'm on the phone and I feel guilty about not being productive. I will, however, talk on the phone to the people I care for anyway. But that happens a lot less often than some would prefer.
...anyway, I always look forward to my 12 year old niece, Ashley's phone calls. She is very intelligent and one of the funniest people I know. Listening to her talk is better than watching t.v. I wish I could tape record our conversations to give you a true taste of what it's like, but from my foggy memory, here are a few excerpts.
So we were talking about places that we wanted to live. Ashley has some Italian in her so she wants to live in Italy. I'm sure most of you know Edward and I lived in England for awhile and I really want to live there again. So I was explaining to Ash why England is cool. So I was talking about the great museums and the really old castles.
Ashley: I don't like castles.
Ashley: Cuz they're like, so 80's.
(That's probably one of my favorites.)
I've been working on a book dummy including penguins and I told Ashley about it. Ashley was incredibly disturbed and told me that penguins scared her because they "walk funny."
Seriously, she cracks me up.
Then sometimes she goes off into random-ville. She was talking today about how she got bored in class the other day so she decided to think about chicken. Then she convinced her friend to think about chicken. So the next day when her teacher was reviewing what he taught (I think it was a he) she couldn't remember anything but chicken.
He he. I love it when Ashley calls...
Aren't you jealous?
