Art Propaganda for the Plastic

So in honor of this Mother's Day, My Beautiful Mommy will be one of the books released to the public. (Here's the link) The synopsis of this propagandistic book is basically telling small children that they're Mommies will be much prettier when they've got pieces of plastic sewn in. I know that plastic surgery is already controversial. I have friends and families that have chosen plastic and stretchy faces. I personally feel that people should just age with dignity, unless they need a breast reduction for back reasons or reconstructive surgery. But the fact that this is a book for little children... disturbing.

Will there be a "Mommy"-type Barbie doll packaged with this book? I am considering purchasing this for my daughter, just so she knows what's expected of her by society. She's already almost 20 months old; I'm way behind!

No kidding Jenn. I'm glad you now realize that teaching your kids that your appearance, especially when doing something natural like ageing, shows how important you are. (Like as if young girls don't have enough image issues.)

hmmm, I hope this doesn't become a best seller - Let's here it for "Paper Bag Princess" and that you are beautiful even if you don't look like a 'real princess'. . . "Ronald, you are a bum".

p.s. thanks for not illustrating this book :)

Gotta hand it to them for their marketing angle (contraversy, dang it I HATE when I can't spell a word!) Society needs more support for being comfortable in their own skins. On that note, I love how you sent him that book. I'll bet they confiscated it and re-read it numerous times.
