Neil Gaiman is a demi-god

I feel like I'm going to repeatedly wet myself. I absolutely love the book Coraline. Edward bought it for me when it was released in 2003 (right after we got married). Mainly because I am a huge fan of both Neil Gaiman for the wonderful stories he writes (you probably know him as the writer of the story/movie Stardust) and I adore all the artwork of Dave McKean. So I am delighted to say that the Coraline.com website is up and running and appropriately creepy. Once you get to the website there will be a place to key in a password that open up secret documentary vignettes that can be unlocked on the Coraline movie site.

Really this film's going to be so freaking great. The same director, Henry Selick, was the guy who directed The Nightmare Before Christmas and James and the Giant Peach and Corpse Bride etc is directing Coraline too.

I cannot wait for the movie to come out this February 6th!!!!

ps. I just found out the sent the coolest mysterious packages to the press for promotions. You should check that out too!

pps. My good friend Andy Erekson works there at LAIKA as an Enviornmental designer and illustrator... which really makes me much cooler by default :)

Mer, This looks awesome and I know my kids will love the movie!
By the way, my kids loved James and the Giant Peach when we read the book for our book club and then we went and saw a play about it. Is there a movie? Also, have you read The Big Friendly Giant by the same author?

I LOVE the BFG. That's cool that you and your kids loved James and the Giant Peach. The movies good but it's not the best.

Really my favorite Roald Dahl books are Boy, Matilda, The Witches, The Twits (for kids) and his Omnibus book of short stories he wrote for adults.

Everything he writes is gold.
